Microneedling

Collagen can keep you looking youthful, but as you age, collagen production slows down. Microneedling performed by our experienced aestheticians can stimulate collagen production to rejuvenate your skin and refresh your appearance.

What is Microneedling?

Collagen is a protein naturally produced by the body that gives skin a firm, supple appearance. Unfortunately, as you age, collagen production begins to decrease, adversely affecting the skin. Microneedling can stimulate the production of collagen, helping to improve the skin’s glow.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) can also be done in conjunction with Microneedling to accelerate and enhance collagen and elastin production.

The SkinPen by Bellus Medical is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device. Microneedling creates micro-wounds in the top layer of the skin which in turn helps promote cell turnover and strengthen and produce collagen and elastin. Microneedling can treat many skin concerns, including uneven skin tone, acne marks and other scars, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles, and dull skin.

Microneedling is a short, in-office procedure with little to no discomfort. Our aestheticians will devise a plan to meet your aesthetic goals, get your skin glowing, and enhance your natural beauty.

FAQs

Are there any risks with microneedling?

The most common reaction to microneedling of the skin is punctate bleeding and skin redness which is temporary and subsides within 24-48 hours. Because the needles penetrate the skin, it does carry a very small risk of infection and scarring.
